The Middle Room in May
Congratulations to the three 2nd class children who celebrated their Holy Communion this week. It was a lovely day and the children had a special time with their families. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the Holy Communion. A special thanks to the PA for a lovely party in the community hall.
π§In the middle room this week we were working on capacity and measuring. We had some tricky challenges set up by Mark and Emilia and we used our estimating skills to figure out the answers. We looked at various containers to measure liquids. Thanks to Ms Cunnane for setting up a great hands on measuring lesson to support our learning.
π₯¬ We had a gardener from GROW who helped us to plant a few more lettuces and herbs for our edible garden. We are looking forward to some tasty and healthy salads this summer. Thanks to Ms Harding for organising this workshop.
π As it is coming close to the big Ballinacarrow birthday we had a trip down memory Lane. We wrote about our favourite memories since starting school from farms sets in the junior room, athletics events and of course sports day! Well done to Fionn, Mark, Adam, Shay and Gearoid who typed up their reports on the chromebooks.
ποΈ We enjoyed the story “The day the crayons quit” and we wrote loads of funny letters begging the crayons not to quit! The children used ol lots of persuasive language to encourage the crayons to return to their jobs!
π HELLO! We are encouraging the children to take the time to say Hello to all of their classmates, teachers and staff in an effort to spread kindness. A little friendly hello can mean a lot!
