The Middle Classroom
9th Oct 2025
Another action packed week with second, third and fourth.
In Maths, we were learning about length and the children used non standard and standard units of measurement to estimate and measure various objects. We used our hand spans, strides, metre lengths, rulers and metre sticks both inside and outside our classroom.
In History, we were learning about homes in the past and how they compare to the homes of today. In Geography, we went on a discovery walk to identify the different types of houses in Ballinacarrow village.
We all love reading books and on Wednesday we resumed our Reading Buddies. It was an opportunity to get to know a friend a little better and listen to some entertaining stories
Our Lego Club also started this week and the pupils from Junior and Senior Infants got to build some very creative Lego structures. Thank you to Liam from Friendship Squad who was a fantastic assistant with our younger Lego engineers.
Finally in our narrative writing this week, the children using their story plans wrote some very interesting and funny stories about their trips to the swimming pool. Some had a more straight forward trip than others!!
Well done children, another busy week.😊👏
