The Middle Classroom
17th Apr 2026
Welcome back to all the children this week.
We hope you all enjoyed a lovely Easter.
In Maths this week, we were busy learning about money. We learned to identify the different coins and their values and we got plenty of practice making up different amounts and finding change.
In Geography, we focused on the natural physical features of Co.Sligo and identified these places on maps. Excellent map work children and coloured coded too for easier identification.
In History, we went on a little historical observational walk to the Community Centre to look at the stone plaque on the original school building in Ballinacarrow. We then compared it to the current school building and discussed how things have changed or stayed the same over the years.
On Wednesday, we thoroughly enjoyed our Historical Field Trip to Templehouse. We heard lots of hugely interesting historical facts and stories from our local area.
A huge thank you to Helena and George for their time, kindness and enthusiasm on the day.
Finally in Lego Club this week, it was the turn of the Junior and Senior Infants to create their lego models. Well done children, super 👌
