The Junior Room.

17th May 2026

This week we enjoyed creating our own games in PE. We explained them to each other and demonstrated how to play them.
In maths we were all working on number and addition,  the infants got to play a massive game of snakes and ladders which is great for 'counting on '.1st class were renaming - tens and units - they did great!
We were following instructions to draw Sonic the Hedgehog and a dinosaur.  We also drew some yummy ice creams.
1st class have been taking part in a Flat Stanley project with other schools across Europe. Flat Stanley is a very funny novel about a boy , Stanley, who gets flattened. It all turns out OK in the end! We decorated our own Flat Stanley's for Ireland and wrote letters about life in Ireland.  We then posted them to some of the schools in the project. We have seen some of the Stanley's from Iceland,  Norway, Finland,  Czechia and Luxembourg. It has been very interesting!
We have continued working in the school garden which is looking great!
