Money and Mice!
💶 We continued learning about money this week as we enjoyed our maths challenges using the Smyth’s catalogue. We used our addition and subtraction skills to work out the answers. We realised how expensive some of the toys are in Smyths! We looked at receipts and made shopping lists.
🐭 Noah, Bláithín and Ceara were delighted to read out their story about “Cheezy the mouse”. It was a great story and they read it out loud with great confidence. We are looking forward to part 2. The junior room also got a chance to hear them read.
☀️ In our research groups , we worked on temperatures around the world. We had team leader, recorders and timekeepers to help us stay on track. We found out it was warmer in Sligo compared to New York! It was only 9 degrees there. We are looking forward to the temperatures rising this week. We looked at temperatures from Norway, Spain, Australia and Nigeria. Enjoy the good weather!
🙏 The children from 2nd class who are making their communion are working hard on their prayers and readings. Keep up the great work. It is a busy time and we are looking forward to a happy day of celebrations in May.
📚 Guess who? Can you guess who is reading each book?
