Constructing Shapes

27th Feb 2026

We spent this week playing with a range of 3d shapes. We built with bricks, we used magnatiles to create 3d shapes, we used playdough and matchsticks and finally we had fun with Rubiks Cubes. It was a really hands on week of learning. 3d shapes are all around.

We had fun using nets to make our own cubes and cylinders. It was tricky but we helped each other and practiced our teamwork skills too.

We are sending good wishes to our 2nd class students who are making their First Confession next week, they have been practicing their prayers and learning all about the lost sheep. Thanks to Trish and Michelle for a wonderful display in the church and helping us to prepare.

Skipping- we started some skipping this week and it was really fun! We need to practice so get out those skipping ropes at home! A great way to keep fit.

For science we were making popcorn! We were investigating reversible and irreversible changes- a tasty experiment! 🍿
